Reservations and Cancellations

GENERAL CONDITIONS AND INSURANCE AT PROAUTO:

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED WHEN PICKING UP THE VEHICLE:

  • Credit Card (NO AMEX, NO DINERS CLUB)
  • Valid Driving License
  • ID Card / NIE
  • Printed copy of the voucher or digital version.
  • Extra charge for deliveries from 21:30 onwards: €35 (19/06–07/09)

RENTAL CONDITIONS

The renter receives the vehicle in perfect working condition, which is verified at the time of taking possession. The renter acknowledges being informed of the type of fuel required for the vehicle and undertakes to return the vehicle in the same condition in which it was received.

The renter agrees to pay all fines imposed due to violations of traffic regulations and to notify the lessor at the time of settlement.

The renter shall be civilly and criminally liable for any responsibility arising from the use of the rented vehicle and under no circumstances may the vehicle be used for the transportation of goods, especially if illegal.

Regarding the provisions established in the previous article, the renter is insured for third-party liability through an insurance policy contracted by the lessor with an Insurance Company, as well as for personal injury under the terms and conditions established in the Mandatory Insurance Regulations.

The renter undertakes to carry the document issued by this company and present it if required by the Authorities or company personnel.

The rental company reserves the right not to rent vehicles if deemed appropriate. Likewise, the rental company may withdraw the rented vehicle if the renter misuses it, or if the vehicle is driven under impaired physical conditions caused by alcohol, drugs, fatigue, or illness.

Under no circumstances may the rented vehicle be sublet or driven by persons other than the contracting customer, unless expressly authorized by the lessor.

MINIMUM AGE:

21 years old and 2 years of driving experience for all groups, and 25 years old with 3 years of driving experience for groups 2,3,4,5,M,VV,VW,P,P2,6.

YOUNG DRIVER:

Drivers aged 21 to 24 will be charged an extra €3 per day due to accident risk and may not benefit from excess waiver coverage.

ADDITIONAL DRIVER (Optional):

The fee for including an additional driver is €3/day, up to a maximum of €35.

INCLUDED:

VAT, full insurance coverage (CDW: insurance covering damage to the rental car) with excess from €500 to €2500 (depending on vehicle group), unlimited mileage, port charges, local taxes and fees.

CHILD SEATS (OPTIONAL):

  • Group 0-3 child seat: €4/day
  • Booster seat: €3/day

Maximum charge of €54 per unit. Please request the required model in the reservation comments.

EXCESS AND INSURANCE

(Optional, available when collecting the vehicle)

Loss, theft, or damage to goods or objects transported inside the vehicle are excluded from the basic insurance.

The EXCESS and the excess waiver (SUPER CDW: insurance covering damage to the rental vehicle) in the event of accident, theft, loss, or disappearance of any vehicle parts are detailed below:

EXCESS BY MODEL:

  • Groups A, AA: €600
  • Groups B, C, C1: €700
  • Groups C2,C3,D,D1,F,G,K2,G2,L,K,J,HH,H,I,2: €800
  • Groups D2,M: €1,000
  • Groups N,P,P-2,VV,VW: €1,500
  • Groups 3,4,5,4-4,6: €2,500

Plus corresponding VAT.

For groups 4, 4-4, 5 and 6, the full excess amount will be blocked, or it may be reduced through the excess waiver option, reducing the blocked amount to 1,000€ + VAT.

For groups VV (Mini) and VW (T-Roc), the full excess amount will be blocked, or reduced through the waiver option to 800€ + VAT.

  • Groups A, AA: 12€
  • Groups B,C,C1,C2,D: 14€
  • Groups D1,F,G,G2: 16€
  • Groups C3,D2,H,HH,I,J,K,K2,L,M,2,VV,VW: 16€

  • Groups 4,5,6,P,P-2: 27€

TYRE AND RIM COVERAGE:

  • Groups A,AA: 2€/day
  • Groups B,C,C1,C2,C3,D,G,G2,J,K,H,HH,2: 3€/day
  • Groups 3,4,5,6,4-4,VV,VW,D1,D2,L,N,P,I,M,F,P,P-2: 4€/day

VAT included in the price.

If the customer locks the keys inside the vehicle, a 25€ fee will be charged for delivering duplicate keys.

In the event of an accident, the company will replace the vehicle where applicable, provided that the rental conditions have not been violated.

MOTORBIKE INSURANCE CONDITIONS (Supplier: Motorent Pujols)

✓ Excess: from 600€ (depending on model)
✓ Third-party insurance
✓ Roadside assistance included (during supplier office hours)

Motorcycle Insurance Details:

  • In case of damage, negligence, or theft of the vehicle, an excess starting from €600 will apply, depending on the model.
  • Roadside assistance is included during office hours. If the incident results from negligent use, an additional charge may apply.
  • Accessories and extras such as keys, helmets, chargers, top cases, etc., are not covered. In case of loss or damage, the corresponding amount established in the contract will be charged.

OTHER CHARGES:

Charges resulting from improper use by the customer:

After the end of the rental period, the customer agrees to pay amounts resulting from the following:

  1. “Special cleaning” charge for extra cleaning services due to the vehicle being returned in an obviously inappropriate condition, up to a maximum of €150.
  2. Charges caused by the loss of vehicle documents and keys, and/or shipment of replacement keys to the relevant office, including cases of loss, breakage, wet keys, returning keys to a different office, or any situation immobilizing the vehicle due to customer fault, up to 600€.

2b. If the customer locks the keys inside the vehicle, a 25€ fee will apply for duplicate key delivery.

  1. Vehicle towing costs in the cases foreseen in the clauses of this Contract.
  2. Costs resulting from loss, deterioration, or damage to rims, tyres (including punctures and blowouts), windows, mirrors, vehicle interior, as well as issues caused by incorrect refueling.
  3. Fines, penalties, and legal expenses caused by traffic violations or breaches of laws and regulations committed during the rental period and already paid.
  4. Without prejudice to the above, the company reserves the right to charge an additional €25 administrative fee for processing and communicating such acts to the relevant authorities.
  5. Repair costs for damages caused to the vehicle in the event of an accident when:
  • The vehicle was not used according to the established conditions.
  • Negligent driving or improper use occurred.
  • Traffic laws established by the Spanish Traffic Authority (DGT) were violated.

EXTENSION OF THE RENTAL CONTRACT

If the customer wishes to extend the rental period stated in the contract, the following steps must be followed:

  • Visit the nearest office at least 24 hours before the original contract end time.
  • The company representative will check vehicle availability for the requested dates.
  • Carry out a vehicle inspection with a company agent.
  • Pay the rental extension and additional charges.
  • Sign a new rental contract or an annex to the original contract.

If the customer fails to proceed as indicated and does not return the vehicle on the agreed date and time, the company will charge the current rate for the extra days plus a 50% penalty.

The company reserves the right to deny extension requests for operational reasons.

Under no circumstances will extensions be processed by phone or email. The above procedure must be completed in person at any of our offices.

FUEL POLICY

The fuel policy applied at vehicle delivery will always be transparent, attempting primarily to follow a Full-to-Full policy. The company may apply alternative fuel policies, indicating any additional fuel charges at rental counters.

If the renter returns the vehicle with more fuel than received, the company agrees to refund the difference upon customer request at vehicle return.

Fuel expenses are the renter’s responsibility.

If the customer refuels with the wrong fuel type, repair costs (*4) of 150€ + VAT will be charged independently of the excess according to the model.

The vehicle will be delivered ready to drive and with enough fuel to reach the nearest petrol station.

ELECTRIC VEHICLES

The customer is responsible for maintaining an adequate battery charge level at all times.

In the event of roadside assistance due to a discharged battery, the customer will bear all associated costs (tow truck, staff travel, etc.). Vehicle replacement will only be possible subject to availability.

Replacement (if possible) will be carried out at our offices. Delivery outside the office will incur an additional 50€ charge.

If no replacement vehicle is available, the customer must wait for the battery to be fully recharged and is responsible for transportation to our offices.

At vehicle return, the battery must have at least 30% charge. Otherwise, ONE FULL DAY OF RENTAL will be charged.

SPECIFIC RENTAL AND INSURANCE CONDITIONS FOR MANUAL AND ELECTRIC SOFT-TOP VEHICLES

Groups G,G2,J,K,K2,M,VV,VW,3,4,5,6

For rentals in categories J,K,K2,G,G2,VV,VW,M,2,3,4,5,6, the general rental and insurance conditions apply together with the following specific conditions:

The customer must inspect the soft top and structure of the rented Jeep, Suzuki, or Mehari and confirm that they are in perfect condition and working order.

The customer acknowledges and accepts that:

  • Any damage or loss affecting the soft top or its structure, whether accidental or intentional, is not covered by any insurance and must be fully paid for by the customer.
  • Due to their configuration, damage to the metal structure may require full replacement because spare parts may not exist.
  • Damage to the canvas is not repairable; damaged or lost parts must be replaced.
  • Charges for damage or loss of the soft top or its components may amount up to 2,500€ according to the published “Damage and Loss Rates”.

The company will provide instructions on folding and unfolding the soft top. If the customer has doubts after the rental begins, they must visit the nearest office for assistance.

VEHICLE DELIVERY

At delivery and return, the company undertakes to inspect the vehicle condition if requested by the customer and provide a copy of the delivery report with vehicle details upon request.

Shuttle Service may be activated depending on vehicle delivery and return dates in order to improve customer stay and reduce congestion in the port area (service may operate between 01/05 and 31/09).

Night Reservations (Optional Extra):

RESERVED VEHICLE GUARANTEE

The company only guarantees the reserved model for vehicles specified without the “or similar” option.

If your reservation indicates “SIMILAR,” you may receive:

  • The selected model,
  • Another model within the same group with similar features,
  • Or a vehicle from a higher category.

If due to force majeure the reserved group or model cannot be provided, alternative vehicles from a higher category will be offered at no additional cost.

RESERVATION CANCELLATIONS WITH MORE THAN 72 HOURS NOTICE

  • If cancellation is made more than 72 hours before the reservation date and time, the paid amount will be refunded.
  • For already rented vehicles returned early, cancellations require at least 48 hours notice. In case of early return, charges will be recalculated according to the current rate based on the actual rental days.

PAYMENT METHODS

VISA, MASTERCARD, CASH.

Debit cards are NOT accepted for the deposit (a CREDIT CARD is mandatory when collecting the vehicle).

Online reservation payments will ALWAYS be made upon arrival using a CREDIT CARD.

An INTERNATIONAL DRIVING PERMIT is mandatory for NON-EU COUNTRIES.

V16 Warning Beacon Mandatory in 2026

The loss or non-return of the V16 beacon will incur a 50€ charge.

Minimum rental period: one day. One day is understood as 24 hours from the rental time or reservation time selected.

The renter declares possession of the appropriate driving license for the rented vehicle.

Any disputes arising in relation to this contract shall be submitted to the legally applicable jurisdiction.

(A CREDIT CARD is mandatory when collecting the vehicle).

THE MAXIMUM PERIOD FOR CLAIMS PROCESSING SHALL BE 30 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF SERVICE.
